So during the week, my parents bought food for Eid but we needed just a little more, so I nipped to the store (the shelves were almost deserted) just for top-ups.
I wore some of my dad's old clothes I found that I talked about on this thread:
This ensemble, including some flat black shoes, a black mask and a green jumper, was something close to the outfit I wore:
I also used this opportunity to see how many IOIs I'd get, so I took off my mask and glasses for half of the time I was in ASDA, and counted the IOIs I got before and after removing my mask and glasses.
When wearing my mask and glasses, nothing happened much. It was just another plain trip to the supermarket. However, there were two teen girls (both curries) who sniggered at me as I walked past; I had a feeling they were laughing at my outfit.
Then as soon as I removed my mask and glasses, I got a handful of IOIs, mostly from women of all ethnicities who appeared 30 and above, and a few from some younger women, including two teen girls. I had my mask off for about 15 minutes today.
The cashier, who was a middle-aged white woman, was also particularly nice towards me after she tried to strike up a convo; she even decided because "I was so nice and brightened up her day" I could get plastic bags/bags for life for free today (we have to pay either 5p of 10p for one depending on what type of bag it is). Thank you Ms Cashier!
What was so funny is that the two teen girls who initially laughed at my outfit when I had on my glasses and mask completely changed their tone after I removed them; they were staring at me up and down with warm eyes.
I guess it's a mixture of both ragefuel and lifefuel, but that was an eye-opening experience. I wish I could have my mask off at work but we can't do that.

How would you describe the aesthetic of these clothes?
On top of buying a pair of straight-legged black trousers, straight-legged jeans and a few more fitted collared shirts for work (yes, we wear jeans in a hospital, even the top surgeons do), I found clothes very similar to these in my dad's clothes box. To me, he seemed 2pacmaxxed in his youth...
