In part because of the sub-conscious association of race with class and other good or bad features (the white english gentleman trope vs the poor short indian worker immigrant).

People generalize, use mental short cuts, and associate people to groups to judge them (that's why racism exists). If your group is full of tall, wealthy, educated, class people that will really help your individual image.

You can be a chad Indian but in the mind of many white girl you sub-consciously belong to a group that is on average less hygienic, shorter, less educated in local etiquette etc. so that works against you.

Indians men are the biggest victims of this failo.

your phenotype can make or break you, it can carry you if you have subpar features and it can drop you down even if you look good otherwise (see @SubhumanCurrycel). Yes there are chads of all races but if you compare a white chad and an asian one, the white one has infinitely more appeal

Any guy regardless of race can be attractive. It's just that certain phenotypes appeal more to broad beauty standards.
Phenotype and facial characteristics are interlinked so if a certain facial characteristic is heralded as attractive, the phenotype that said facial characteristic coincides with the most will too.

So, the phenotypes that fall outside these beauty standards are considered less attractive on "average".

I say on average because on average, nearly everybody regardless of race will still fail to adhere to every beauty standard. The average white guy will still have a weak jaw as opposed to a strong, defined one. They'll still have an overly long midface or forehead.

Not fitting "perfectly" into the overarching beauty standard isn't the end-all-be-all, because aside from a select few, nearly everyone doesn't.

Attractive facial characteristics aren't exclusive to people of just one certain phenotype, which means some people outside said phenotype with the right characteristics will be attractive regardless.

There's also the subject of preference. Even though I mentioned an "overarching beauty standard" there's still subjective opinion involved. Some people will be more inclined to find one skin tone more attractive than the other or one hair color.
