Would publicly making it known that you have a sexual preference for chubby girls actually hinder your chances with chubby girls?

This guy did it to an extreme extent (making a song about them) and he reacts to all of the girls that use his song in a lustful manner
The extent to which he does it would be seen as a failo in most people's eyes



This raised the following question for me: if you had some social media status and found a way to make light of how you can't get aroused by skinny girls and it got to the point where you made it an ongoing joke so that a decent amount of girls became aware of it, what would happen

Would chubby girls think that you only have a preference for them because you are too low value to attain the most in demand girls (slim girls)
Or would they take it that your preference is genuine and they would rather get with you because you made your preference clear before knowing them, rather than a guy who they think is only going for them as a second option?
Is there way to gain status among chubby girls and cheat the system by openly admitting attraction to them or does admitting attraction to chubby girls automatically damage your status to the point where you can no longer attract any girl?
