Is it more effective to use 0.05% daily or 0.1% 3x a week for anti-aging and good skin? I’ve read that most studies done on anti aging benefits of Tret were with 0.1%. Can using 0.1% make your skin worse? How many times a week should I use it for anti aging?

I use it everyday bro, and im not sure about the data, but 0.1% works faster to get that "glow" and "glow" is the anti aging benefit for me atleast in regards to tret, so u just gotta get used to it.

In the last threat ppl were giving me shit for using 0.1%. I started at 0.025% and then bumped up to 0.05% a year ago and then stopped using it for a while. So it’s not my first time using Tret. When I started the 0.1% I started flaking a lot, so I should cut down to 3x a week and just stick with it?

I’m using a moisturizer with Hyaluronic acid serum

just do 3x a week now or every other day. and build up ur tolerance. I started with the sandwiching method, but now i just dermaroll, put on tret 0.1%, then wait 30 minutes, then put on the cerave moisturizer

The higher doses don't fuck your skin up that's just bro science. Your skin will get used to any % you use but your skin will be fucked at first, I used to be on 0.1% and my skin never flaked but I just started up again on 0.05% and my skin is fucked currently but I know it will be worth it so I'm just dealing with it for now.

not much difference between 0.05 vs 0.1% as the studies have proven this. For the money 0.05% is best and same results at .1%

The only difference between 0,025%, 0,05% and 0,1% tretinoin is how fast they will work. You will have to apply all of them for months and years to keep up the glow effect, so it doesn't really matter which one you choose.

Jumping straight to 0,1% just to get 'fast' results is not a good idea for most people either because without building a tolerance to retinoids, you could get severe redness and peeling by using a product that strong.

tldr; In the long term you will get the exact same glow whether you choose any of the 3 options. Lower concentrations will be less irritating.

All 3 strengths of tretinoin will also beat OTC retinols and retinoids in speed by a magnitude of 20-50x. If you can, always choose prescription tretinoin over OTC retinoids sold on the internet. Those will work too, but the results will be extremely slow.

0,025% is basically like OTC retinoids comparatively to 0,05% prescription tret. For the money and results, always go with 0,05% prescription tret. Do not waste your time with anything else. 0,1% is a load of bullshit. I’ve tried it, didn’t notice any difference between that and 0,05% and the literature backs it up. 0,025% is not even worth buying.

0,025% works 2x slower than 0,05%. So if you achieve good results with 0,05% in 4 months, it would take you 8 months with 0,025%.

There is also a 0,005% tretinoin apparently for teenagers, which would yield just as poor results as an OTC retinoid (need to use for years before seeing results).

Though the 'speed difference' between 0,025% and 0,050% becomes irrelevant as the years go by, since you will be applying daily.

Personally, I stick with 0,05%. I have tried 0,1% and it gave no extra results in 3 months but much more irritation.

Cost to benefit 0,050% always comes out on top. I disagree on the speed difference of 0,025% and 0,050% becoming irrelevant as time goes on. 0,050% money and results makes no sense to waste your time in the long term using 0,025%. I never got irritation from 0,1%, the price wasnt worth the fact it was no different in results to 0,050%. Unless you have extremely sensitive skin and even applying face cream before apply 0,050% tret gives you irritation then maybe 0,025% is the only option outside of other retinoids but at that point I would suggest LDAR.

0.025% still mogs any OTC in the market.
One of the highest concentration of retinols in the market is 1% by Paula’s choice and they themselves admit that it’s only comparable to 0.02% tret. And they probably exaggerate this a bit as a marketing point that people are very close to stepping into the actual non-cope skincare realm, which starts at 0.025% tretz

I have some high IQ shit to share but I’m not on PC maybe I’ll later explain why 0.025% will beat the shit out of anything the market.

I use tret 0.05% and it's good because the 0.1% starts giving side effects after long term.

I put some on my dick and it made the head glow like the sun after a few days

why not 0.025% ,since its same as 0.5% ?

does not matter after 6 months

It irritates the skin less than 0,05%, it will just work two times slower. For people with very sensitive skin or rosacea, using 0,025% tret in the long run will yield the exact same results as 0,05% but with less redness.

0,05% and 0,1% will just work faster.

I meant why don't YOU use 0.025%, if it gives the same result as 0.5% in the long run ?
you said you use 0.5%

I don't have rosacea or super irritated skin. I do avoid 0,1% though because it gives too much peeling at least for me.

I'm 19 and I work a lot so don't have enough time to get serious about skincare, but when I do decide to start getting on tretinoin can I just use 0.1% because it's the strongest and will have the most anti-ageing benefits? I heard somewhere the side effects go away eventually right?

Use 0.1 and work ur way up to everyday. I said i used it everyday, but the itchiness was too much to handle. Now i use it every other day and it works great with minimal side effects. I will eventually use it everyday, or close to it, when the time is right.

Bro how hard are you working that you don't
have 5-10 minutes at the beginning and end of the day to take care of your face? No disrespect intended but realize this shit isn't complicated. After following a "skincare routine" for like 2 days, you will be able
to do it while half asleep.

Because I have to order all of it some of which needs a prescription, also I'm an ADHD-cel so I have bad executive functioning skills and adopting new habits consistently is a struggle.

But you're right it's not that complicated, I'll eventually start following the routine laid out here:

What would you recommend for a teenager? 0.050% or 0.025%?

0.025 honestly if it’s for daily

Bro while I don't know your situation, and have been fortunate enough to not have ADHD, I feel that using disabilities as an excuse for putting things off (especially something like skincare) is going to really hold you back, especially because ADHD is GOOD and VALID excuse. I don't know what the struggle is like, so feel free to call me a dumbass.

I have nothing against you and mean no disrespect, but at some point you just have to stop making any excuses and you just need to get shit done. Even if that's just calling your dermatologist to schedule the appointment to get something like tret / whatever you think is necessary, to get started.

This is true ten-fold with looksmaxxing - while I'm sure you realize it already, so many of the softmaxxes that ACTUALLY work only make an impact after months, even years of effort, and only then can you reap the rewards of them (gym, skincare, etc). Putting things off, especially things that just purely benefit you - like skincare - will make you look back and feel anger at yourself for not taking better care of yourself sooner. Not trying to sound like an asshole, so hopefully I don't come off that way. Just telling you what I wish someone would've told me when I was a bit younger, lazier and full of myself.

No, no, you're completely correct.

ADHD makes it harder but I can't use it as an excuse, just recently I've been running every day and improving my sleep schedule.

Thanks for the encouragement man I really do appreciate it, and yeah I gotta maxx out everything I can, and stop making excuses.
