One reason Off Topic is full of low-IQ, boring threads is that anyone can create any number of threads they want.
This leads to too many boring, repetitive threads.
So, here is my suggestion: Create a new prefix called 'High IQ.'

A user can only use the 'High IQ' prefix once every 10 days.
This will encourage users to create quality content to post with a 'High iq' prefix
the thread doesn't even need to be high iq,it could be meme,music
but if the troll is too oblivious, like "if you don't have 6 inch dick it over" ,"justin birber is ugly",
,someone will report you,you're banned 3 week
I know this still have troll,but this will reduce 95% troll

I think either:
1. Mods manually do it for whichever ones they think it's worthy
2. users who've built a reputation are hand picked by mods to have access to it, but if they abuse it or use it liberally then it gets taken away

But I think people overestimate how much others care about ruining things.

But high IQ should be the same set sized bar for everybody.

Think of it this way. If there are the following tiers:

- Unheard of
- Legendary
- Ultra Rare
- Hyper Rare
- Rare
- Very Good
- Good
- Okay
- Average
- Eh
- Bad
- Very Bad
...

Of how good a thread is.

If everybody gets 1 high iq post, then one person's high IQ thread (which will be top 1% for him), might reach the "Good" tier.

Whereas, another person's might be an "Ultra Rare" theory.

It should be that the only threads that are allowed to have tag must be above a cutoff point, say however much the arbitrary value of "Rare" is, or above.

But not everybody is capable of making a rare thread, so why should everybody get a chance to get a tag that holds equivalent worth to somebody else, if somebody else is releasing content that makes the other guys "high IQ" thread look infantile

All people with tag rights, should be capable of making a thread of a rare tier or higher, and that suggests exclusivity.. I.e. not everybody should have it

I think more moderation and more random subforums is, in general, bad for activity and makes it more of a shitshow with potential for mod abuse. When off topic doesn’t have anything interesting at first glance I just use the news feed feature. I’d be down for a feature where you’d get notified when people you follow make a thread
