Summary: How FUOTY Works
FUOTY (Forum User of the Year) is a competition to determine the most popular and celebrated user on the forum. Here's how it works:
- Qualification Round (7 Days):
- Users campaign for votes by creating threads, replying, sending DMs, and encouraging others to vote for them.
- Voting is done by replying to the official qualification thread.
- The qualification thread closes on December 21st, 2024, at 7 PM EST.
- The top 16 most-voted users advance to the next stage.

- Elimination Stages (Where We Are Now):
- A single-elimination bracket determines the FUOTY winner.
- Random Pairings: Participants are matched randomly to compete for votes.
- Rounds Last 24 Hours: Winners progress to the next round, and losers are eliminated.
- The process continues until the finals.
- Final Winner:
- The last user standing is crowned Forum User of the Year (FUOTY 2024).
- 2022 winner was ReadBooksEveryday, and 2023 winner was @Schery6
@TechnoBoss, @Alexanderr, and @Orc has pointed out that @kaligula567 and two other members use their alts to vote for kaligula. with everything factored, the votes are actually tied 106-106. User with the most rep passes by default in the event of a tie, (rule since 2022 FUOTY). Kali has about 7.5k while @Crisick (formerly mess) has about 14k

Not sure, some looked very likely to be alternative accounts, some newer, some older ones. The older ones would've likely been due to a data breach at one point, so their details would've been compromised (they'd been inactive for rather long periods before) and were thus deleted. Not sure if...
