I have zero signs of balding...yet.

My dad still has pretty much a perfect hairline, my maternal grandfather was a bald subhuman.

So what do you know about the "shedding phase" of fin though?
I know everyone says "a couple months of shitty hair loss is worth in the long term with finasteride" but it just seems so scary especially since im still in school

I've been on fin 8 years, started at 18. in reality i never needed it, i just got paranoid that i was balding when in reality i have had a natural nw2 ish hairline since I was a child. As a result never had a shedding phase. But im too afraid to stop the pill now, because who knows if any hair was being saved in the meantime. in any case getting a ht soon

Although i dont have documented evidence of it getting worse since the past year (when i started caring about hair health, but ive never taken pictures of temples specifically), ive only actually noticed temple recession in the past 2 weeks (it may have been there before but I never noticed).
I dont think people notice stuff randomly or its all in my head, though, feel like it has to be something that developed recently. I think the fact that i never took pictures of my temples shows that it wasnt a problem before.

Its commonly said that hair genetics / male pattern baldness comes from your moms side.
But i feel like im going to have a similar hairline to my dad (who is probably nw3 at 45), and my maternal grandpa has a full head of hair (nw1). Not sure what it means
