3 day fullbody split optimality

For those knowledgeable about the gym and muscle building, is it possible for a three day a week full body split to give similar gains to a 5 day PPL or Upper Lower split, assuming full intensity and training to failure on 60+ percent of sets.

I'm a busy guy and don't want to be in the gym for more days then I have to. Those who have done full body let me know.

Yes, absolutely. 3 days a week, full body, is great as long a you're doing equal volume as you would compared to a 5 day split.
It should give similar gains with equal volume and recovery
