Vince Gironda, a bronze era bodybuilder had the philosophy that 36 eggs a day is equivalent to a dianabol cycle, here’s some of the research I have found.
Impacts of Cholesterol
The body produces at least 1000mg of it a day.
One egg contains 200MG of Cholesterol
Your brain and central nervous system need cholesterol.
Even if you don’t eat eggs, your body still produces it.
I eat 12 eggs a day, I still achieve progressive overload 3 years into lifting, (5 pound weight increase on all lifts per week). I maintain my current weight and sit around 7% body fat, I’m starting to get so lean to the point where I don’t have fat pads on my feet from adding half an hour of cardio in the morning.
Science behind-
- LDL= Bad cholesterol
-HDL= good cholesterol
-HDL takes bad cholesterol out of the body.
High LDL=Bad
High HDL=Good
Eating eggs DOES NOT increase LDL cholesterol in healthy people
It contains HDL and LDL, so it has no effect. (Balenced 1 HDL = 1 LDL)
LDL increased in people with high blood lipids (high carbs)
There are many studies that show 6 eggs proves to be only beneficial. If you are healthy there are no accosted risk with eating eggs.
How did Vince think of this? There’s an article from 1975 that showed 35 eggs a day to treat Severe Burn victums, the researched medical journal showed Cholesterol remained NORMAL.
if you have 36 eggs a day, it will NOT effect you in a bad way.
Whats the point, will I just become a bloatcell?
I’m really not sure yet, with the 12 I eat now, I’ve actually become leaner, I think it’s because I’m eating almost no carbs.
36 EGGs a day is equivalent to a dianabol cycle.
Eggs contain Testosterone and other Androgens, STEROIDS
The cholesterol that’s in the eggs with only benefit the intense lifts, as intense training naturally increases Growth Hormone and Testosterone.
6-8 week cycle recommended by Vince
Then drop to 1 or 2 a day.
Excellent for Muscle Growth and Breaking Plateaus
This is one of the most interesting topics I have ever seen, it seems ridiculous, but you have to admire the sheer size/conditioning the bronze era bodybuilders had with little known knowledge on steroids. There’s reports that Arnold used this as well, I am very tempted to try this.
