Regular users are just "valid" - when I check yours or my username, there is no parenthesis next to our name in our moderator change log. With people who are never accepted to the forum/people who's applications get rejected, it says *username* (rejected)" in their account change log. In the case of @Pattinson it's saying he was never accepted in the first place. This can only mean that he was accepted, made the posts specified in OPs screenshot, deleted his account, and then someone tried to make a new account with that old name (and were rejected)
