I feel fine.

Reasons for doing it:
-I'm going on a cruise in another 4 weeks, so need to lose weight fast. Probably about 20% body fat right now, hoping to get to around 13-14%.
-I was diagnosed with slightly high fasting glucose a couple years back (was 107). Some studies say fasting can restore insulin sensitivity, but I'm not convinced. If it can, great.
-I have been drinking way too much alcohol the past 4ish years. Hopefully this will help "reset" some of my system.

My main concern is that since I'm obviously in a ketogenic state, I'm wondering how to reintroduce carbs. I have read some stuff that states eating carbs after keto actually decreases insulin sensitivity. Maybe there is a safe way to do it in order to avoid that.

Mirin, i did one too, never feel as good as during it.
I wish i had a full month free to do it. after 10 days i had difficulties to continue while doing all days activities.
But definitively the best thing for the mood and for lowering the bf.

usually when you'r on your 3rd day you even forget to have hunger for few days.

Yea, I'm going to take it day by day. I measured my weight at about 44 hours, which should have had most of my glycogen depleted. So now I can measure actual fat loss without worrying about it being water weight.

Don’t reintroduce carbs. Continue with high fat , low protein , almost zero carbs (< 40 g per day, being all of them vegetables, and zero sugar. This is called a ketogenic diet.

I don't want to do a ketogenic diet permanently. If fasting can reverse insulin resistance, than I'd like to reintroduce carbs. If I can "reset" my insulin sensitivity, then I'll eat some carbs. Only if I can't, only then I'll stay in perpetual keto. Which will suck. And I won't have a source of quick energy used in intense weight lifting or anaerobic activities.

But if it's true that fasting reverses insulin resistance, then I'll be able to safely consume some carbs, as my Beta cells will have recovered.

Who said permanently? You asked for a transfusion. Transition with that for one month

Ah, I misunderstood you. Thanks. That will be hard with my upcoming cruise though haha.

Update: This evening will be 9 full days. The weight is coming off fairly quick but I'm not where I want to be yet.

Dude don’t do that. That’s fucking dangerous and you’ll be burning off just as much muscle as you are fat because you’re getting no protein and you’re doing it too rapidly. If anything eat half your normal number of calories a day, almost all protein, for a few weeks while making sure to work out 4-5 times a week as well.

Weight before and after?

I waited 44 hours to weight myself so that my glycogen would be depleted, and I wasn't measuring water weight lost.

At 44 hours I was 187. I haven't weighed myself since, but I'm looking a bit better.

I shouldn't lose muscle since I'm not lifting. My body is using fat as fuel. We will see once I'm done.
