By doing normal Looksmaxxing skincare stuff, you can likely achieve an 8/10 level skin.

But, to get to the next level and halo your skin, you need to stick to a rigorous routine which is difficult, but worth it.
As men, we don't have the advantages of makeup; good skin is our version of coverage, and gives the perception of good health and cleanliness, which is incredibly attractive.

The Tablestakes (MUST DO):
1. Good Sleep - Biggest contribution to hydration, healthiness, dark circles, etc.
2. Good Diet - Balanced with macronutrients, high protein, read other Looksmaxxing articles.
3. Water/Hydration - Flushes your skin, gives the base moisture to achieve glass look

The Routine:
FOR PRODUCT RECOMMENDATIONS: r/SkincareAddiction, r/KoreanSkincare
1. Double Cleansing [Day/Night] -
Start with an oil based cleanser, followed by water based cleanser. Helps remove deep impurities and keeps skin cleanest possible.
2. Exfoliation - Use AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) or BHAs (beta hydroxy acids) to remove dead skin cells and promote skin renewal. Limit 2-3 weekly.
3. Use Toner [Day/Night] - Glycerin or Aloe Vera based helps balance skin PH, prepare for next steps.
4. Serum [Day/Night] - USE HYALURONIC ACID. BIGGEST PROMOTER OF MOISTURE, GOT SO MANY COMPLIMENTS AFTER STARTING. Also helps in reducing fine lines, smile lines, eye bags, etc.
5. Sheet Masks [Day] - 2-3x a week, alternate with exfoliation, gives extra boost of hydration. Good softmaxx before going out too.
6. Moisturizer [Day/Night] - Most important part of the routine. Apply any lightweight, non greasy moisturizer, and feel free to apply multiple times a day.
7. Eye Cream [Day/Night] - General eye cream advice sucks. Find what CAUSES your eye bags, and proceed accordingly. There's 4 major types: caused by hyperpigmentation, thin skin, veins, and just the face structure which causes a shadow. Use products according to the cause.
8. Tretinoin 0.025% [Night] -Lowest strength tretinoin which reduces side effects and gives great glow, softness, and protects against aging.
9. Sunscreen [Day/Night] - Literally skip the routine if you're not doing this. Use sunscreen diligently, twice a day, if not more, and apply generously. I know people who look 20 years younger just by doing this.

On the days you are too lazy, traveling or late, still do the bare minimum routine; face wash, moisturizer, sunscreen. Takes less than 1 minute if done properly.

what’s the point of this, peak skin appearance is having zero blemishes and perfect collagen like kids do.

i’m sure this is a good guide but the end result looks alien and weird imo

oil based cleansers aren't for everyone, even it's for double cleansing

I've tried them before and they always broke me out

In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.
