that the universe was always there as a "machine" working within all possible resonances, energies and so on.

That idea is interesting and it would suggest that Tesla didn't agree with the idea of Christianity, that God created everything, meaning that Tesla wouldn't ever describe the universe as it at a certain point wasn't there and then began to exist but that it was always there. Or maybe what he could see without really being conscience about what he's seeing was God behind all the waves, since God always existed even before the universe.

I would agree. What is the universe anyways? Thats a question that must be answered. Is it what it comprises? The stars? Matter? Or is it empty space that needs to be filled? People like to talk about it like its a separate entity that can be observed. Because before there was matter or anything people say the universe was empty as if it were an entity separate from everything else.
