No, as in Turkic. Turkish and Turkic are complete different things. There are many descendants of the Steppe which was thousands of years ago. For example there is the Uralics = Magyar/Hungarians, Estonians, Finns and Sami people. Turkic = Turkish, Azeri, Bulgars, Kazahars and Kumans. Huns = Mongols, Avars, Northen Chinese and some other smaller groups. It is really big.

Hungarians are Uralics, we picked up Turkic/Hunnic Traits from living beside their tribes for a long while before moving into Europe where we assimilated the Avars, then later the Kumans in the 11th-12th century. That is why Hungarian has some Turkic/Hunnic type of writing. We are now genetically Germanic and Slavic.

Bulgarians came from the Steppe much earlier within the 6th century, The Bulgars assimilated the Huns who lived in the Carpathian basin which later the Hungarians would take over. That and before you reached Europe, your kind mixed a lot with Russian people.

It is really interesting, since we both are heirs of the Huns to a degree. I know I have Kuman/Uralic bloodline mixed with some Italian/Germanic and Bosnian roots.

It is an interesting place. I never really had issues with Bulgars even if they can be thieve like at times. Still much better than Romanians.
