Goals:
I wanted to bulk up with cheap food that tasted great (milk fits these requirements).

My idiotic protocol:
I consumed between 2-3 gallons of milk a day for 3+ years. I began my day consuming milk (because I love its taste). I sipped milk all throughout the day until I went to bed. If I brought a water bottle to class, I would put milk in it. I love milk. I drank milk with my lunch and dinner (usually meat, eggs, vegetables, fruit).

Effect:
Negative: I increasingly felt tired as the years progressed. This culminated in me going to the doctors and testing for pre onset anemia (~15 ng/mL low iron).

Positive: It tastes so nice and makes me happy. I bulked from 65kg to 97kg in 2-3 years and now I have a double chin. At peak milk consumption, I felt strong but tired all the time.

Why?
Pre onset anemia occurred because the calcium and casein in milk undermined my iron absorption from other foods. This was exacerbated by not separating my milk consumption from meat consumption (so I absorbed less iron).

Milk also contains tryptophan which has sedative and anxiolytic-like effects, noticeably contributing to my early day tiredness due to mass milk consumption.

What to do?
Get bloods to check iron indicators (ferritin, iron, TIBC).

Space milk consumption from meat consumption.

When consuming meat, avoid milk consumption and instead choose orange juice to maximize iron absorption.

TL;DR Don't consume milk with meat no matter how much you like it. Drink milk towards the end of the day to avoid sedative effects of tryptophan.

Everyone here is probably either lactose intolerant or does not drink enough milk for this to be a concern (they do not bulk and want to be lean).

But for some reason I love chugging milk straight from the carton after I eat steak or mince beef. It really is so refreshing and delicious after a big meaty meal

What about bone growth???
With all that calcium

It’s because calcium and iron fight for the same absorption sites, so when you are ingesting very high amounts of calcium all of the time, it will be very hard for iron to ever get absorbed

Very good thread and a good PSA to everyone who does GOMAD. I used to do a few years back and it does make you get much bigger in a relatively short amount of time. Drinking your calories is great if you don't have a huge appetite as well. If all else fails you could also take an iron supplement.

Do you want me to move this to the looksmaxing section?

Gotta take MK4 to make sure the calcium gets deposited in places you want it to be. You can still drink milk but just don't drink it at the same time as when you're eating meat.

Cause you drank pasteurized 🤦‍♂️

And how much not at the same time?

The holy trinity for bone strength is calcium (from natural sources like milk) Vitamin D3 and K2, so you should definitely google more about it. And I'm not sure exactly what you mean by the second question. I was taking 15mg a day but there have been studies done with 40mg in Japan that showed great results. There's probably a point where you get diminishing returns with the dosage and seeing as K2 is expensive 15mg/day will probably do you just fine.

Eat your meat and then wait like an hour and a half and then start consuming your milk. I was drinking a gallon of it a day but I ate it with meat too sometimes which now I see isn't ideal.

I consumed between 2-3 gallons of milk a day for 3+ years.
2x 3.78 x 365 = 2759.4
2759.4 x 1.035 = 2,855.9
niggah was consuming like 3 fucking tons of milk a year

I agree. idk how anyone drinks <1 litre of milk a day. I have often gone months without drinking water (only milk and orange juice).

That is a fascinating question tbh. I sometimes wonder if my excessive milk drinking caused my short stature (6'1).

Too much calcium causes (hypercalcemia) which can cause calcitonin secretion. This can inhibit GH (and presumably osteoclast and osteoblast proliferation).

It's sad because milk tastes so good and is so cheap.

Cope. I only drink raw milk. If anything (if you believe in denaturing of nutrients/proteins caused by pasteurization) the purportedly higher quality of calcium, casein and tryptophan in raw milk would only exacerbate the effects that I'm mentioning.

I do the same :feelsautistic::feelsautistic::feelsautistic:
I've never had any troubles with my health though

Never heard of hypercalcemia will remember now thanks

Heard of k2 and d3 before but not mk4

You responded well to my question
Thanks for the response

Great points. It's worth noting during this time I was on 15mg of Vitamin k2 mk4 and regular natural sun light (naked everyday). Also, one should make sure they are not taking 15mg on vitamin k2 mk7 as that would give the person kidney and liver damage. From memory appropriate dose of mk7 is 100-200mcg.

As these having clotting factors, some also take it with 75-300mg aspirin. When I was megadosing vitamin k2 mk4, I got heart palpitations and then took aspirin and it went away within an hour.

And replace milk with orange juice when consuming meat.

There are different forms of K2. There are MK4 and MK7. People have differing opinions on which one is better but AFAIK I read MK4 was better.

Yeah, that's very good that you got the D3 naturally from the sun. I was going to ask you which one you used (if any) but from what I know MK4 is the superior version. Most of the studies I've read used MK4 as well.

I'm going to move this to the looksmaxing section if you don't mind.

Yeah mk4 has better bioavailability, shorter half life, clinical familiarity (more studies).

The reason why I submitted to offtopic, was because I see GOMAD and milk drinking topics in offtopic, the looksmaxxing section doesn't get many views, and I wanted to maximize my viewership of the thread, to help any naive people who were mass consuming milk.

Okay, I'll keep it here on off-topic.

That was my understanding of it as well.
