Good question, the competition is pretty fierce, it would help to learn as much as you can about spirituality, meditation, yoga, etc. and even join some cults to see how they work from inside and how they promote the image of the guru as an enlightened being who knows everything.
Then, you would start as a yoga or meditation teacher and if you manage to persuade your students that you are different than all the others, they would convert into fanatic followers and your organization will slowly grow until it will become a cult and you will be revered as a guru.
