Parents that shout at their children, hurt them, both physically and mentally, forcing them to do things they don't want.

Those type of parents are garbage people that should have never reproduced.

Parents should focus on teaching and passing down skills. As you said, all beatings/shouting does is raise cortisol. It won’t teach them how to succeed in the real world. At best it’ll teach them to hide everything from their parents and therefore avoid interacting with them in a genuine manner if at all in the long run.

happened to me growing up had that happen and wasn’t allowed to go to sleepovers with friends or even family and basically wasn’t allowed to socialize apart from school. messed me up bad mentally I can barely socialize now and have severe anxiety and depression from that
