Accutane and Minoxidil

On 40mg of Accutane daily + 800mg erythromycin to help with acne and redness

hairline starting to recede slightly and was thinking about getting oral minoxidil and/or finasteride

I’m already experiencing side effects pretty largely from accutane, would starting minoxidil or anything else worsen them?

If so should I start topical instead?

since you’re already on Accutane and experiencing side effects, starting oral minoxidil might worsen things like fatigue, swelling, or heart-related side effects. Finasteride is generally safer to add while on Accutane , side effects are rare or temporarary

Best option is probably topical minoxidil.

Also Accutane could cause hair thinning if your using minoxdil while on it your just gonna continue to thin. Try to lower Accutane dose if you can

Yeah ok i might try topical

I think I am not too far off finishing up with accutane (maybe a month or so), so I might look into other options afterwards

I need to schedule another appt with my dermatologist so I will see what they say about dosages as well
