So my dermatologist (a new one) prescribed me accutane and i still have to do the blood tests before starting it, but now im seeing these side effects and i don't know is it safe to take it after all. Side effects being closing of growth plates and organ damage and all that i don't know if its true and is it smart to take it or should i try something else.

I've seen a lot of people saying that carnivore diet stops acne from forming and i will probably test it out but i don't know someone please reassure me about the side effects of accutane because i don't know what to do.

But the 1 thing i know is that i can't take acne anymore especially as a senior in HS it limits so much of my social life
and its the main obstacle that that is stopping me from getting girls which i could relatively.

Take your accutane and eat cleaner foods in general. Dont do keto while in puberty.

i'm 18 but i am surely still in puberty because it started late for me but the worst would be if could grow more in height and i limit it because of accutane

I'm not sure about its effects on growth plates. I have seen people link studies that say the exact opposite, that Accutane could increase adult stature. I would take it; acne scarring is pretty horrible. I have disfiguring body acne scars, so I am biased.

Accutane and then dutasteride in your 20s. Problem solved

Isotretinoin permanently changes the size and output of the sebaceous glands. You can easily maintain the results with topical retinoids or dutasteride.

Accutane is fine. I have tried it then moved to tret for long term purposes from skinorac to maintain my gay glow

Accutane = Clear Skin, depression, chapped lips, overly sensitive skin, gay glow
Raw Carnivore = Clear Skin, Happy, no gay glow

Accutane has significant side effects that often extend beyond the skin. Up to 27% of patients report eye discomfort due to dryness and risk of night vision loss. Joint pain and bone changes are common, with potential for arthritis, premature growth plate closure, and osteoporosis, increasing fracture risk. Gastrointestinal issues, including nausea and a 4.4x higher risk of ulcerative colitis, may appear even years after treatment. There’s also a concerning link to autoimmune disorders like Graves disease and Sjogren’s syndrome, leading to symptoms like dry eyes, joint pain, and immune dysfunction.

accutane ruins your mental health, at least it did for me. It resolves itself once you stop taking it, but while you’re on it, it fucks with your head. definitely still worth it if you have bad acne. as long as you’re able to endure half a year of torture like a man, you’ll be fine.

:lul: wtf is it with all these low dosages. im on 80mg prescribed. isnt there studies showing lower dosages have higher chances of acne coming back first short term high dosages?
