accutane=suicidal thoughts?

ive just started low accutane course (20mg/day), i might do 40 a day if i see slow results but anyways i was looking up side effects and noticed suicidal thoughts or depression, is this true or is it just fearmongering? also if it is true then im probably chilling since my dose is so little, it just might discourage me from upping it to 40. def not gonna rope but might make me less sociable which i already am so that would be pretty fucked

Brother stop looking at the side effects and just pop your daily pill.

The brain is so powerful and can cause you to have a nocebo effect.

In a 2007 randomized study on finasteride 5mg (blinded, so patients didn't know it was finasteride):

• One group was not informed about possible sexual side effects → ~15% reported sexual dysfunction (including ED ~9.6%).
• The other group was informed ("it may cause erectile dysfunction, decreased libido, problems of ejaculation but these are uncommon") → ~44% reported sexual dysfunction (ED ~31%).

This difference (15% vs. 44%) is largely attributed to nocebo—expectation alone tripled the rate.

So just calm your little brain down and take your pill you will be fine. Stop researching it

obv its true, has nothing to do with depression ur just gonna feel very lazy and depressed, not having motivation do to anything basically
