I’m currently on 60 mg Accutane and my skin has completely changed my appearance. I’ve always had acne-prone, oily skin with visible pores, but on Accutane my skin is crystal clear and my pores are basically invisible. It honestly feels like an aesthetic ascension.
I’ll be on it for 6 months total and eventually do 80mg at the end, and I know Accutane isn’t something you stay on long-term because of toxicity. My question is about maintenance after I stop.
Do you guys think:
• Cycling ultra-low dose Accutane (like 5 mg on/off) is worth it for keeping pores small and oil low?
or
• Is topical retinoids (tret/retinal) + strict SPF enough to maintain the results long-term without relapsing?
Basically, I’m trying to keep the low oil / tiny pore look without wrecking my health. Curious what’s actually worked long-term for people who had Accutane-level results and didn’t want to lose them.
Any insight ?

I’m 155 6,1 It’s crazy high. It’s a derm tho so I’ll trust it. N my acne wasn’t even that bad before so it’s weird they are going this high.
