Match Group
Online dating service company

Match Group, Inc. is an American internet and technology company headquartered in Dallas, Texas. It owns and operates the largest global portfolio of popular online dating services including Tinder, Match.com, Meetic, OkCupid, Hinge, Plenty of Fish, OurTime, and other dating global brands.

Rather than dooming in blackpill spaces, the users should all collectively partake in a class-action lawsuit against Match Group. These evil people have played a major role in the male loneliness epidemic since 2009. All for the sake of revenue and profit. Here’s how:

Sub5 creates account, burns through all his swipes and gets no matches, sees a finite number of “likes” behind a paywall, his lizard brain then excitedly pays to see who his “secret admirers” are, only to be met with dismay as they’re all profiles he would’ve never swiped right on in the first place. X amount of dollars down the drain. The sub5 thinks there’s still hope as he now has unlimited swipes, so he vehemently right swipes until his thumb gets tired, only to still get zero quality matches. Little does he know, he’s been digging his own grave the whole time all because of a predatory system known as “ELO”. And it’s only gotten more aggressive in recent years.

What is ELO?

an internal ranking system that assigns a score to each user based on their perceived desirability, influencing who they see and who sees them. It's a dynamic system that evolves based on user interactions, including swipes and matches. While Tinder previously relied heavily on Elo, they now state their algorithm is more complex and continuously factors in user behavior.

How it works (or used to work):
In the past, Tinder used an Elo system similar to how chess players are ranked, where matches (or swipes) with more desirable users would increase your score more than matches with less desirable users.

Impact:
A higher Elo score generally meant your profile would be shown to more people, especially those with high scores as well. Conversely, a low Elo score could mean your profile is shown less frequently and to less desirable users.

Tinder's current stance:
While Tinder acknowledges using an Elo-like system in the past, they now emphasize that their algorithm is more sophisticated and takes various factors into account beyond just the Elo score. They now focus on how users interact with profiles, including likes, dislikes, and profile content.

Basically skill-based matchmaking for OLD. The more you right swipe, the less desirable the algorithm deems you as. Same rules apply for left swipes against you for any arbitrary reason. Your profile is then in a perpetual state of “purgatory”, and the only connections you’ll ever make will be with other users in purgatory. This leads the average sub5 male to believe he’s uglier or more unappealing than he really is, so he continues burning money for upgrades in hopes things will change.

But they don’t.

Why would Match Group want you to find a partner? They can’t extort money out of you any longer if you don’t need them. Water.

So why hasn’t this company been sued yet? Is it complacency, Stockholm Syndrome, ignorance, or all of the above? Something needs to be done…
