1)a infinite number of conditions each conditioning the other cannot exist, because the search for the fulfillment of conditions goes on endlessly, and thus is equal to nothing.

2)a infinite number of insufficient conditions cannot make a sufficient condition to actualize any condition, since the nature of insufficiency of the conditions in the series is not quantitative in nature but qualitative.100 billion or infinite Blind men do not make a seeing thing.

So by this reasoning a Self-sufficient thing exists, but it is not without qualities,it's only quality is itself aka consciousness.quality and essence are undivided.they're even synonyms of one another.the nature of consciousness without objects is simple, uncompounded and illuminating.

Just because in the illusory world of changing phenomena we cannot know what it's like to have consciousness without objects, does not mean it doesn't exist.in fact it must.

As for the cause and effect being mutually dependant,in shankara's system nirguna brahman is not a cause of samsara.nirguna is like space, unobstructed despite objects existing within it.
