So I have isotretinoin, hydroquinone, tazarotene, azelaic acid, kojic acid soap, and bimatoprost for lashes. My plan right now is to take 30mg isotretinoin for around 300 days. I don’t really have bad acne, but I want the skin/oil control benefits and I’ve also heard it can shrink sebaceous tissue a bit (accutane nose). Just wondering if doing a long course like that is too harsh, especially if I’m also thinking about using other strong topicals.
I also want to use hydroquinone on my face and neck for pigmentation/lightening for like 3–4 months, but I’m not sure if that’s way too much while on isotretinoin or if it would destroy my skin barrier. Would it make more sense to wait until after isotretinoin, or can it be done carefully?
After hydroquinone, I was planning to switch to azelaic acid to maintain results, and then once I’m done with isotretinoin completely, start tazarotene for long-term texture/skin turnover. Does that order sound reasonable or is there a better way to do it?
Also I’m using bimatoprost for lash growth and I’m a bit paranoid about the fat loss side effect people talk about. Is daily use actually needed or can it still work a few times a week? I have hooded eyes and my lashes sometimes touch the skin above, so I’m worried if that could somehow increase risk. Would putting Vaseline around the area and applying with a Q-tip help stop it spreading? And does curling lashes before applying matter at all?
Lastly I have kojic acid soap but I’m not sure if it’s even worth using when I already have hydroquinone/azelaic acid. Would it just be extra irritation, especially on isotretinoin?
Basically I’m just trying not to wreck my skin by stacking too much and would appreciate any advice on what’s safe, what’s pointless, and what I should avoid.
Cheers
