Agomelatine, an atypical antidepressant, it’s going to be:

- lowering cortisol
- resetting circadian rhythm
- reducing CRH signalling
- improving serotonin
- improving deep sleep
- upregulating norephredine and dopamine

No significant side effects reported except liver toxicity

Thoughts? Anyone know about this?

Havent used it nor really looked into it deeply but my mom uses it for insomnia and thinks its great
I wonder if it’s more better to use than mirtazapine

liver toxicity is a really big side effect

It’s far more mild than something like accutane or oral steroids

Typical hepaprotective drugs or supplements should suffice

Risk is even less if you don’t drink and are young

It’s apparently one of the cleanest antidepressants with no withdrawal, sexual effects, emotional blunting or weight gain. So the pros far outweigh any possible cons, it seems to me at least.

It seems vortioxetine and agomelatine may be better alternatives to SSRIs, I may make a thread on this

Look into Ramelteon
