How important is alar base width if it is slightly wider than inter corneal distance?
Ideal diagram:
My alar base slightly extends a little past either medial canthus but doesn’t go further. I also have inward medial canthus like chico, so they are longer and more inward curved toward the nose bridge.
Example of alar base slightly wider than ideal:
But it isn’t too wide like this
West African man:
I feel as though Alain Delon’s facial fifths are ideal:
I feel as though even a milimeter or two wider than ideal and the brain instinctively notices that harmony is not fully there.
Is alar base slimness more important for women and just a bonus for men if it potentially works? A slightly wider alar base is usually more masculine so I wouldn’t say the fifths is an absolute rule for men with regards to alar base distance.
