I love k-pop but not black metal. I also like metalcore but black metal is cringe.
metalcore is true cringe a fake attempt at capturing the true spirit of metal which in all actuality culminated with albums like si monvmentum 2005 and experimental black metal like dodheimsgard in 666 international or even a umbra omega. Metalcore is a cheap plastic version of black/avant garde/experimental metal

thrash metal and some death metal albums are the second best after black metal but everything culminated in black metal so that the next big thing in music will always be found in metal and not proggresive rock or stuff like that even though the latter is also evolving but cannot shred off its origins from psychedelic rock and that particular weltanschauung completely

uhm
Next big thing in music is probably gonna be in pop/electronic music/hiphop
There's plenty of experimental/avantagarde metal that have no black metal elements at all
and there's plenty of prog rock that has nothing to do with psych rock

like what? prog rock peaked in 70s then it could never escape the psychedelic worldview while black metal changed rapidly from cold harsh norwegian bm to more experimental and better post production, percussion instruments , etc . prog rock peaked with mahavishnu orchestra thers nothing that has been as good since

this is also technically black metal bujt sounds nothing like 90s norwegian bm while all prog rock sounds the same to an extent from 70s uptil now

if I think about good prog rock mahahivshun orchestra doesn't even come off the top of my head tbh
Like if i had to think of jazz rock, I would think of soft machine way before them

Since then you had
- the whole canterbury scene
- King Crimson, who changed their sound after every album
- Symphonic prog
- Zeuhl
- prog space rock like Gong
- prog punk like Cardiacs, Camberwell Now

That's a lot of stuff without talking about neoprog or prog metal... which one of this locked in a psychedelic worldview? Just Gong

A part from pink floyd, gong, some german bands like can I really dont see the link between prog and psych

there no obvious link but i cant see past the obvious psych worldview prog rock contains, even pink floyd is technically prog rock and even some experimental metal nowadays shares inspiration from them. Just listening to MVO its obvious they both are intertwined. Im not sure about prog punk but i dont think they are among the big names as comp to king crimson zeuhl etc
