I'm gonna make a longer thread but this one is so I don't forget it.
We humans were made thousands of years to have a goal. Like hunting a mammoth. Our whole body was transformed into that. That used to be our goal.
Now we get free dopamine etc while doing nothing. Our bodies haven't adapted yet.
I've stopped physically masturbating (nofap, diet, sports, drugs) but I continue to mentally masturbate. I just realized when I was at the top in my life I had this one simple mind trick I employed every time.
I created a mental goal (with determination) and I followed it like it was the task to me given at that time. (This also filters out unimportant things) Now this takes some mental capacity to develop this habit but I give a simple example.
You go into social setting but don't feel like it. You act the way you feel and u get nowhere.
Scenario 2:
You get into a social setting and start thinking: What benefit can I get from this interaction?
Now person A goes to the gym so I can have a gym buddy
Person B goes partying so I can have a party buddy
Person C knows a certain person I need to know or get with.
You think about the benefits it gives you and you imagine the achieved result (can be overhyped and doesn't need to be realistic, as long as it gives you that dopamine rush)
You then use that energy to achieve the result. People will be drawn to your enthusiasm and high energy. This in turn makes you magnetic.
You'll eventually achieve your goal and expand your social circle.
You know 3 new people because of this. Now these 3 people invite you to social setting and you again get 3 new opportunities. Now you know 9 new people.
Your emotion is followed by your thoughts and minds. And you as a conscious being are the only one who can influence yourself. Train it and you'll be better at becoming the master over your mind instead of being a slave to it.
