am I the only one who acts like I don’t know someone even though I do?

I’ve had bad experiences where people who I thought were cool with me acted like they didn’t know me around other people. I’ve started doing this myself because everyone must feel my hate. I avoid people who I’ve spoken to maybe once or twice and sometimes don’t even greet people who I’ve known for a while. anyone else do this?
