I really think that if Andrew Tate and Jordan Peterson and all the other mainstream redpill guys hadn't blown up in popularity back in 2022 a lot of people wouldn't be looksmaxxing and/or blackpilled today. The reason I say this is that imo that wave of redpill and people like Tate actually spread a kind of proto-blackpill to Gen Z en masse, he's all about working hard to grow big muscles, make money, etc, now obviously making money and mindset and whatnot is mostly irrelevant to looksmaxxing, but his heavy promotion of working out, not being fat, getting jacked, being healthy, was kind of the first proto-looksmaxxing spread to a lot of young normies. Moreover his content was almost exclusively targeted toward males, and young males.
Additionally it also was targeted and watched by people who felt like they were in the lower rungs of society (nerds, generally people who were/felt unpopular in school, or in other words, LTNs), similar to looksmaxxing.
Lastly, it also got a lot of people to actually question the "bluepill" that society indoctrinates every person with at a young age. It got a lot of people to embrace a movement that was widely villified and hated by the mainstream knowingly, which set the stage for people becoming looksmaxxers despite the huge hate looksmaxxing faces.
Now obviously eventually people realized that the redpill had serious inherent flaws and failures, hence the mass transition to blackpill (the two were never compatible anyway), but I still think Andrew Tate & co laid the groundwork for the mass adoption of the blackpill and looksmaxxing.
