It baffles me to see the irreparable damage classical ssri's like zoloft or lexapro has done to pharma and specifically anti depressants reputation. I find it reasonable to criticize the drugs but i find the broader distrust less reasonable since the transparency was there and the zombie sides wasnt hidden away and found by conspiracies. They were known in the studies all along so researcg would quickly let you know this.

Docs didnt just make people sexless zombies for nothing but because the drugs still worked and still work. They had to picl between zombies or depression neither is great but depression poses higher danger in forms of suicide etc, i belive docs still prescribe these over better drugs out of habit. They have to deal with hundreds if not thousands of issues so they cant memorize thousands and thousands of drugs and the reasoning behind it all, therefore they just find a drug for x issue and give it out constantly even though it may be unideal because its "good enough"

While i dont like these drugs we have better drugs today that dont get enough credit because of the class that they are in, mao-b or mao's in general, buprupione, other types of seratonergic drugs like snri's, vortioxetine or buspirone are drugs i belive 90% of people would benefit from MASSIVELY, and that % is way higher on here
