Any actual point in trying to look better?

I know it sounds stupid but like where is the end goal? I assume it’s different for everybody but also there always gonna be someone who looks better than you, or who just lives a more fulfilling life than you, I’m saying there not any point to trying to look better of course there are many benefits to your life when you look better than you did previously, but it can seem kinda useless idk

being the best isnt whats important, its fufulling your life, making your life a competition does nothing but make it worse, succeed in things YOU want to succed in to be happy. you only live once so just try to be happy while doing it

i dont think is useless if there is a significantly noticeable change in your life quality because the end goal is just to be happy and leave behind our self hatred, being able to look in the mirror and like your appearance , if we go by your logic of it being useless we do nothing but enter a nihilistic and depressive point of view that isn't really the best option because if you see looks from that point of view you could apply that to every thing in life and at the end is truth, nothing really matters, whats the worst that could happen out of any possible scenario on anything, die? i dont really care, we're all just atoms floating in the planet but we only live once so why not living life pursuing something that give us the need to look for existentialism in our lifes and set a goal on something, at the end of the day is all about reproduction and love, thats the meaning of life, human connection, but sadly if youre a chud thats less likely to happen so why not trying to be the best that we can everyday?

Yea I see what you mean. My mind sometimes gets stuck in a criss cross of “nothing truly matters so what’s the point of trying” and “nothing truly matters so why not try,” thanks for the lengthy response
