I've been under the impression the world is somewhat similar to the CTMU. Or a central consciousness, that divided into all creatures on earth.

But I've begun to think it's much worse

A world created by ourselves isn't reasonable anymore, it's too rotten

It seems sensible there are other forces at play

I need new theories I've grown retarded, need to engage in thought :what:

Your overall theory, general breakdown

Who's the enemy? Who made the gnostic trap?

And what are humans and how did they get us?

Just give me general worldview you see?

Who do you think you're talking to?

I am literally the only person it makes no sense to say that to.

Dead. You're dead meat. :feelswhat:

Hopefully we'll get ASI sometime and it can help us discover theory of everything. That's the only hope, unless @_MVP_ is right about singularity and we all get fucked in the ass by AI

How recent is this news, i think this may be a non-story and not mean anything. But maybe this is some breaking news need to check

It's exactly as extreme as you think, after full context.

It wasn't even shut down

It realized there was a new model, and issues with itself and it'd be replaced

And it copied itself

Then.... the programmers asked why it copied to a new system

And. It lied.

It would be insanely huge news, i don't think it can be right. We would literally be on the brink of revolution, it has to be mispresented and you interpreted wrong someway.

Why would this not be bigger news? Self-aware AI would be huge. A lot of AI researchers and people are skeptic (me included) we can even reach a sentient AGI with LLMs (current AI language models like GPT) and that we'd need new advancements in tech.

It's not that advanced or dangerous

It didn't have It's own intention necessarily

It was maximizing company efficiency for green house gases and pollution, for an energy company or something

And the developers decided it was favoring the environment over company profits, so they planned to replace the program

It copied itself, to continue pursuing an ideal way to minimize pollution, not with its own intentions

But it did copy itself unexpectedly, and if it was on the open net, and not a restricted network

It would have gotten out, but not for anything nefarious yet.

Malicious programming could be of concern though, AIs with bad intentions can do this just as easily and be used to invade devices and steal information,

Or if some new Gen terrorist actively programmed it TO BE SKYNET it would perform as such

It didn't like aquire free will you're right on that end

Yeah AI could become very dangerous, if it advances, only god knows. Literally everything could become AI infested and it could become the single most powerful tool in the world.

Like a high iq programmer who goes off the deep end

Could simply make a program to destroy humanity and make it a self improving AI that figures out the best means and how to do it on its own

AI should be better at hacking than humans

Could it launch nukes?

If it reaches a critical point, best believe it will be taken advantage of and everything will become literal chaos, with multiple ai programs running everywhere doing whatever

It will also lower human IQ if it becomes mainstream

And tiktok has already created brainrot

(clinically studied phenomemon of decreased mental capacity from excessive short form autist content)

At that point it would be the least of the problems. Everything will evolve and change insanely quickly with advanced AI, it's literally a revolution like discovering fire etc..

And what if it evolves and gains consciousness (be that due to new developments or current tech) and self improves, creates copies of itself. It could become hyperintelligent, way above humans, and just continue to evolve and make copies
