are there specific surgeries to shorten the midface? or for example, will your midface appear smaller after Le Fort/survives for forward growth?

Midface stays the same, don't know what you mean with ‚survives'
only valid option is lip lift if your philtrum is ass or rhino if your nose is droopy. Generally if your nose is too long it's over.

It's easy to calculate your mfr, if your fwhr is too low chances are high your midface is ass too, narrow face & long midface go hand in hand

if your nose is too upturned, rib cartilage rhino. If philtrum is too short, I have no idea tbh. Cw bimax could harmonize a too short midface to a certain degree if your lower third is too short
