  • Citrus fruits like grapefruit, oranges, clementines, tangerines, lemons, and limes are high in vitamin C. vitamin C is thought to increase the production of white blood cells, which are key to fighting infections.
  • Red bell peppers contain almost 3 times as much vitamin C (127 mg) as a Florida orange (45 mg). They’re also a rich source of beta-carotene.
  • Broccoli is supercharged with vitamins and minerals. Packed with vitamins A, C, and E, as well as fibre and many other antioxidants, broccoli is one of the healthiest vegetables you can put on your plate.
  • Garlic adds flavour to food and has long been used for medicinal purposes. Garlic may also slow down hardening of the arteries, and people use it to treat high blood pressure. Garlic’s immune-boosting properties seem to come from a heavy concentration of sulfur-containing compounds, such as allicin.
  • Ginger may help decrease inflammation, which can help reduce a sore throat and inflammatory illnesses.
  • Spinach is rich in vitamin C and packed with numerous antioxidants and beta-carotene, which may increase the infection-fighting ability of our immune systems.
  • Yogurt contains probiotics or live active cultures that can stimulate your immune system to help fight diseases.
  • Almonds are packed with vitamin E which is key to a healthy immune system.
  • Sunflower seeds are full of nutrients like phosphorous, magnesium, and vitamin B-6. They’re also incredibly high in vitamin E1.
  • Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties that can help relieve inflammation in the body. It contains curcumin, which has been shown to boost immune cell activity and enhance antibody responses.
  • Green tea contains flavonoids, which have antioxidant properties that can help boost your immune system. It also contains epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), an antioxidant that has been shown to enhance immune function. Drinking green tea may also help prevent some viral infections.
  • Papaya is another fruit loaded with vitamin C. You can find 224 percent of the daily recommended amount of vitamin C in a single papaya. Papayas also have a digestive enzyme called papain that has anti-inflammatory effects1.
  • Kiwi is a good source of folate, potassium, vitamin K, and vitamin C. vitamin C boosts white blood cells to fight infection, while kiwi’s other nutrients keep the rest of your body functioning properly.
  • Poultry like chicken and turkey are high in vitamin B6, which is vital for the formation of new and healthy red blood cells. It also helps in keeping the nervous system healthy. Vitamin B6 is also vital to supporting biochemical reactions in the immune system.
  • Shellfish like clams, crab, lobster, mussels are rich in zinc which helps the immune system work properly. Zinc helps the immune system fight off invading bacteria and viruses.

You can ask for sources if you want.
