Any tech workers? DevOps, Security, AI/ML?

Anyone got it by using formal method (by applying directly or getting reached out by recruiter)? How did you manage to do it?

I understand that you can still get job by nepotism and in general by networking.

Only livable wages please.

Do you think it will get possible in 2025, 2026...?

Should I go and learn some trades or that is impossible too?

I have 7 years of software engineering experience, average developer for my years of experience, I'm from Eastern Europe.

Get other specialization in computer science, learn trade or just go minimal wage job or something?
probably would go with a other specialization as you already have something to show that you have experience in a other field

what specializations do you recommend

what specializations do you recommend
that also strongly depends on what you enjoy doing as in computing the developers never ever get praised for their work which can really dehumanize you so doing something you enjoy is important

What is the market like in your country?

ur best bet is connecting with ppl that can refer u for an interview, much more likely to get hired

connect with ppl on linkedin showing genuine interest

if u get hired depending on the company the referrer gets some extra $ so its often worth it for them

but that begs the question...

are u at least getting interviews?

Yes. I'm getting interviews. I submited my CV to 100 or so places and got to technical interviews in 8 different companies or so.

To be honest I was not prepared enough. I should have spent 1-2 months just preparing for interviewing skills as there are a lot of competition.

I got used to being able to wing it during 2020-2022.

But even if I did well I'm not sure if they wouldn't go with internal hire or refferal.

I can get some interviews, but salaries are low and I would need to do really good in the interviews.

I got a degree in CS from a reputable university (NYU) and I’ve been unemployed since I graduated 6 months ago. We are competing with the biggest fags and cucks who have no life besides coding all day. Praying for our success 🙏🙏🙏

10 year ago when I was in university I was so shit developer. Shit developers got their job almost instantly after university or on the last year of unversity.

The good ones (the ones who were coding from childhood) got their job at 1st or 2nd year of university.

It used to be so easy.
