Early 2023,
In High school I got prescribed escitalopram for my anxiety/depression symptoms, it worked very well the first few months,
I noticed increased social happiness and way less of an impending doom feeling when I was chilling alone. More motivation and more things to be happy about.
Within the next couple of months, my inhibitions became so low that I was the funny guy in class again without even trying. Everything I would think I would say, almost like I was drunk 24/7, literally throughout the whole day, without the physical side effects, of course.
Lived in almost pure bliss every day.
Then, like all good things, it came to an end. around 9-10 months later I experienced crippling headaches from the moment I woke up to the second I lay in bed.
I was forced to halt the medication that gave me pure happiness within my life and became my social lubricant in almost all settings.
Now I'm asking for any better recommendations than escitalopram/lexapro that would incur fewer side effects (headaches).
If you have any suggestions I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
ps. I also tried Sertaline, which gave me side effects as well.
