If the yolk isn't runny and creamy, you're doing it wrong. Use a pot to boil eggs and a pan to fry them. If they're overcooked, reduce boiling time, if they're undercooked, increase it

Put it in a pot, cover it with hot tap water, put the pot on the stove with maximum heat. When the water starts to boil, you time and boil it for 5 minutes. Remove the pot, empty out the water in the sink, fill it with cold water and let it cool for a few minutes.

If you want hardboiled then you can go for 6 minutes, but I always prefer a softer boil since runny yolks have more nutrition.

Do you put the stove on low after the water has boiled or what?

Do you put the stove on low after the water has boiled or what?
all i have is a camping gas
I turn it as low as possible without turning the fire off
its enough to keep water boiling

i am an expert at this

THIS IS IMPORTANT: poke a tiny hole in the top of the egg (the wide part, the narrow part is the bottom. most pictures of eggs that you see are upside down, like this is an upside down egg🥚)

use something like needle to do this. doesn't have to be big and don't break the shell. just poke a hole in it. the reason for this is, it will make the shell come off extremely easily once it's boiled. if you don't do this, it will stick to the egg and will be a pain to remove

then grab a small sauce pan and put a little bit of water in it, like 1" of water. DO NOT SUBMERGE THE EGG

then cover the pan and put it on medium heat for 10 minutes. you will have to experiment with the time to find the right duration etc.

follow these instructions and you will have amazing picture-perfect boiled eggs every time

here's evidence if you need it

BONUS: elevate your passion for eggs with this secret recipe doctors don't want you to know!

along with the boiled egg, poke holes in a potato and put it on a baking sheet and stick it in the oven for one hour or so, basically until it cooks and becomes tender

then cut the potato and dump the flesh into a bowl and discard the skin. add the boiled egg and mash them together

add olive oil, sea salt and black pepper and mash together some more. use a generous amount of olive oil because the potato will absorb a lot of it

optional: add nuts (cashews, almonds, etc)

it's a very easy recipe that will increase your PSL rating by 2 points

It's bc the shell gets cracked when it's cooking. There's really nothing you can do about it. Happens to me all the time. The whites are kind of soggy, right?
