I see that my coworkers who have kids basically spend all of their time outside of work on taking care of them. Work 9-5, kids 5-11. Kid duty on the weekends. What kind of life is that? No freedom to focus on your own hobbies, no spontaneity in your life.. Shit is so overrated. Most people who end up having kids don't even put much thought into the decision. They just do it because of societal pressure and because that's how it's always been. Add on my shitty genetics, and the decision is even more obvious. I'll definitely be getting a vasectomy in the near future. Anyone else?

I'm surprised TBH. Most parents would never admit that. They especially wouldn't ever say that they regret having kids even if they do, because it's socially unacceptable. I think people really underestimate what you need to give up in order to raise a kid. Your life changes completely. Everything you used to enjoy doing? No more time for that. Can't go traveling/weekend trips, can't go to restaurants/movies unless you get a babysitter, less sleep, less time for your hobbies, sex life killed.

Even if your child does become of a certain age where you can start doing things with them (say traveling), it's just not the same. They'll be holding you back and you won't get the full experience.

If you're already in a good place in your life (which you should be before even considering to have kids), why would you want to change that? Why risk throwing that all away? I feel like there are very few instances where kids would actually benefit my life - the benefit is simply not worth the cost.
