I grew up watching movies with teenagers having friends, getting into trouble, having fun outside and blissfully enjoying life.

Not to mention teen/first love I didn't even go to prom because im such a fucking recluded retard (a lot of my mates didn't go to)
It's not like im a fucking retard that expected my life to play out like a kids adventure movie but fuck I have literally rotted in complete isolation since I was 13.

I wish I had a "balance" back when I was younger because all I thought that mattered were grades when in reality school matters far more later on and it's stupid to try and waste your youth at a younger age for academics when it literally doesn't matter.

Grades only get you so far as well. Social connections are extremely important, I wish I was more NT in my early years. I’m getting a lot better at in now in college, but I wish it was a skill I developed sooner

I was so non NT in high school that I basically never even talked to a girl until senior year (I was also ugly until senior year). I totally missed out on all of the common high school experiences and regret not doing many things. Ever since I started high school Ive been watching the time tick by on my youth, knowing I was squandering it. I would watch time tick by thinking I had all the time in the world to make the most of my teenage/high school years. Freshman and sophomore year passed by but I thought "there's still 2 more years". Then junior year whizzed by and I realized it was close to over and I hadn't done anything. Unfortunately I found PSL and thought the reason why I didnt have so many friends/a girlfriend was because of my looks. And I became extremely socially anxious in senior year and didnt talk to anyone. And senior year went by like that. I didnt get to experience half of it, and prom. I didn't get the senior year I wanted so desperately.

Like you I thought I would make friends and have fun with friends like in the movies, I genuinely thought my life would be like that. I wanted to be popular in high school and hang out with bros after school. Instead I stayed home and studied all 4 years and didnt experience the typical teenage life. Theres not a day that doesnt go by of me thinking about my missed high school years. Thinking about the hallways of school and how Ill never have that first day of school feel hurts the most.
