Anyone else lost their family?

I recently cut contact with most of mine. I don't have anyone besides my parents at this point. I have friends, but that's different from people you grow up with... I can't rely on them when I'm old, sick, unemployed, etc. Can't reminisce about childhood memories or celebrate the holidays together.

I'm just realizing that almost everything I learned came from them. They were a huge part of my identity, for better or worse. And as much I hated them, at least we shared some values. Can't say the same about the rest of the population. It really is me against the world now.

I was never close to my extended family since I moved to a new state when I was 7 so it's just my parents and brother

But brother became a drug addict so we barely talk these days
