Anyone else see miserable couples in public?

I went inside a restaurant to pick up my food, when I saw this couple sitting at a table. They weren't saying anything, both were just on their phones. I was like wtf? Aren't couples supposed to talk and laugh with each other? looked very miserable. They looked 18 or maybe 19.

I'm just thinking why tf are they a couple when they don't even fucking talk and don't enjoy hanging out with each other. I'm kinda lonely so I would love to hang out and talk to ppl ngl

Everyone is texting now, I see plenty of high-school kids in buses or public places, they don't even talk to each other anymore, they just look at their phones, they text and occasionally talk when showing someone else some tiktok video, because it's faster to show someone your phone for several seconds then to send the video link.
