Anyone here ever had very religious parents trying to push things to you because "God" told them?

My mom is a very religious women which isn't something I have a problem with but she now wants to push me to change my name for religious reasons, dreams etc and its really pissing me off, I was arguing with her about why do I have to change my name to "Israel" just because she said she had spiritual dreams warnings about it and of all names Israel. There are lot of things we can't control in life but now we can't even control are names?



I honestly can't wait to be older and live by myself and not let people older then me decide my life choices just because there my parents and "know best" This is my life not theirs, if they wanna change there name they can do that

I am 17 and I have Christian parents, it's annoying because you would think even if you got a revelation to change your name it would be from God to you and not to your parents. They would say God told them to beat me and do it. Makes no fucking sense man. Abusing Christianity to decide my life. Idk it's just my mom. I have nothing with wrong with Christianity but I have studied it for some time and no where does it say anything like this.
