Im sick of the flavours none of them are good some of them are tolerable I am thinking of just adding whey and skim milk protein powder, from a brokie standpoint it makes the most sense as unflavored whey has no filler ingredients its 3-4grams higher per serving in protein and around 90grams more per kg for the same price. Wondering if anyone uses or has used it here.

good to see some people are still natural

once you take stuff like testosterone, steroids or protein powder, you are not a natural athlete anymore

Brother whey and casein is just the byproduct of cheesemaking and its bioavailability + amino acid profile is second to none. I obviously eat protein from other sources too.

Vanilla is the most tolerable of the flavours imo but when I mix it with milk it forms clumps, also how do you get the honey to mix in the liquid?

Optimum is like +70% the other brands in price down in this country and I don't think they sell that flavor in stores

Some people are sensitive to the protein after taste. I don't taste too much of it but my friend and does and no matter what he does it always lingers behind.

Thats the artificial sweetners most likely. I've made cheese before and drank the leftover whey its quite mild.

Yea it's a bit expensive. You should be able to find into online. Tbh any of the favours os Optimum are good except the fruit flavoured ones they taste very artifical and synthetic. My protein Impact isolate chocolate brownie also tastes good.

They all taste like wet cement tbh

But nothing else beats them in terms of bulking up your protein intake for little calories

I buy dry whey from a specialist retailer for use in pizzas, I did try eating a handful of the powder, never again... Whey once it's first formed and separated from curds in milk is gross stuff. It's virtually flavorless besides a little sugary from lactose remnants.

I bet you didn't know, but whey is a huge pollutant from the dairy industry particularly in cheese making. Professional pizzerias use whey in their recipes. Apparently 50% of whey goes dumped into soil.

@SubhumanCurrycel I think if you don't like any of the flavours, you don't like protein powder. I recommend you hold your nose until you've emptied your shaker.

is it that bad? I tried drinking whey after I made homemade cheese and it was light not pleasant tasting but I wonder what it’d taste like with milk in powdered form.

I knew about the pollutant status it’s got lactic acid which will eventually corrode crops I believe most developed countries have tight regulations around them. I didn’t know about the pizzeria recipes that’s quite interesting.

Another reason I was considering unflavoured whey was actually because I made dough and use it for pizza bases, flatbread/bread myself thought adding whey to it would help sneak in extra protein through the day

Yes a “waste product,” they used to dump that inedible garbage until they realised they could con retarded gymcels with it. Shit will give you stomach aches and bloating. Always listen to your body
