my ap lit teacher, who is easily one of the chillest teachers in the school, usually gets back from lunch a little late. our classroom door is pretty heavy and the doorstopper is tiny, and since our class is the first period after lunch, she always rushes to wedge it in before we all go in.
she was trying to put the doorstopper somewhere between the hinge and the door’s edge, but it kept slipping. the door would glide over it and push it out of the way. i stepped in and said something like, hey, you can get more torque if you place the stopper at the edge instead. i did it for her, and it worked perfectly.
she looked up, smiled, and seemed genuinely impressed. she even joked that she was never a science-y person. i’m not really either, but she knows i’m quite stem proficient. i've spent the last hour thinking about it. made me feel good ngl JFL. usually don't have pleasant interactions like this.
