Someone got on sleeping meds because he’s traumatized since his dad committed suicide. He told me I should exaggerate about my insomnia when I spewk to a doctor since they’re anal about giving out sleeping medication but I didn’t even exaggerate. Turns out we have the same sleeping medication even though we have different doctors in different cities. I asked him how much his doctor prescribed him and he’s on 5mg while I’m on 10mg. I’m surprised you’ve never heard of it, and yeah it’s a benzo. It’s why my doctor said he didn’t want to prescribe it but didn’t protest it either. He said he was gonna keep a watchful eye on me. But it’s a last resort kind of thing, I will try other methods first. I will give melatonin a try even though apparently that doesn’t work according to pharmacists, but people I know swear by them.

It depends, sometimes it’s good (able to fall asleep within 45 minutes or whatever, maybe 30 even, and able to sleep for at least 6 hours without waking up) but sometimes it’s bad (waking up every 2 hours, unable to fall asleep) or straight up horrible (staying up for 30-36 hours). What’s yours like? And no I don’t always sleep daily but I try to.

Then what would you think would be the reason why my dose is twice that of his? Doctors don’t give out meds based on genetics (they don’t have our tests done). They just assess the situation and based on that, they give prescriptions. I think in this case we shouldn’t read too much into it and take it at face value (which here would be apparently I’m a fucked up case, my doctor literally said I’m the worst case he’s had).
