Before you call me grey hear me out.
From what I've noticed appeal is associated with some, but not excessive, bone mass. For example Chico had solid, but not crazy, bone mass, and he had a ton of appeal. However he didn't age nearly as well as high bone mass men do (like Henry Cavill).
As women get older they look for men with high bone mass and the men w/o high bone mass simply don't age as well. Weight they put on is more obvious and it's simply harder to look as striking w/o the bone mass. For example DiCaprio or Beiber.
Meaning in their teens and twenties they might pull more, but they fall off. It's easier long term to have high bone mass and possibly pull less in your twenties but lok better in your thirties.
I'm sure this is pretty obvious and other people have talked about it but I keep seeing stuff about how good "appeal" is and I just can't help but think about how poorly high appeal men age.
