Surgery is obviously a terrible financial and physical struggle. Do you think taking antidepressants is worse than that?

For me it’s the final frontier of drug maxxing that I’ve abhorred.

It's infinitely worse. They don't have make you happy or content they just make you indifferent to everything. Plus everyone can see the SSRI stare.

Yeah. Citalopram. I've also been on other treatments unrelated to depression but all medication is shit if it isn't for physical pain.

Are antidepressants an even greater sacrifice (of something more fundamental) than the wageslaving and recovery periods associated with surgery, that’s the comparison.

Are you talking about how bad they are financially?

And it all depends on what anti depressant

Ah now i get it, ssri i would say yes, horrible long list of side effects

But that just makes ssri's a bad option, go for snri and taper of when youd like or go with buprupione, i use buprupione even though ive never been depressed as its amazing for great mood and some motivation and libido increase

I am talking about it in overall terms. I know they are dirt cheap to buy, but if they make you apathetic and braindead then the opportunity cost is colossal.

I bought bupropion about 3 years ago but I never had the guts to take it. Someone who has used DNP, methyltren, and has trimax in 3 months. That’s how much I fear it.

Buprupione has done the opposite for me, mf i see colors like those cartoons and mcdonalds playgrounds from when you were a kid

Well it depends
Anti depressants don’t solve the actual issue
Surgery is a risk you could take it and reach what you want or get botched and still be on anti depressants which again don’t solve the root problem or you might have actual clinical depression so you will need antidepressants regardless

I found it so nauseating I couldn’t keep going with it. It’s too strong for me.

Can I just take bupropion for a month, judge effects and then stop? SSRI seem like a permanent addiction.

Yes you can go off, they are totally diffrent from ssri, buprupione feels closer to a dopaminergic stimulant

Evidently. Unless your depression is due to genetics, which it seldom is; you’re just ignoring the actual source of it and coping through pharmaceutical complacency

I tried them both anti-depressants is far more worse it depends on what the surgery is tho

Definitely not if you choose the right antidepressants. Never had surgery but as someone taking bupropion I don’t understand why people hate on antidepressants so much. My quality of life has increased, my gym sessions became more enjoyable, my dick gets harder, I find it easier to socialise and probably other minor improvements I haven’t noticed

The fear mongering has to stop jfl

Ive heard its bad to go off if yourr on for a long time but really something ive been bothered to research as i only take 1 or 2 pills in a week so im not super consistant or high dosing atm, during the summer i did 300mg the entire season pretty much and didnt notice any dependency

Well shrooms works as an anti depressant and they might actually be good for your brain
