Are braces going to negatively affect my looks?

I just turned 15 years old and I am now in the process of getting braces. My front teeth protrude foward which make large spaces and give me a gap. This is from many years of me sucking my tongue when I was younger. I was wondering if getting braces will negatively affect my looks. My pallate is large enough to keep proper tongue posture and I doubt that they will have to pull any teeth due to there being proper spacings between the teeth.
