Okay maybe I am coping as a close set eyed long midfacecel but I can’t help but notice over 50% of male actors who are simped over most have longer midfaces Ian somerhalder, Christian bale and chace Crawford all have midfaces below 0.9 even though psl autists would claim those ratios are death sentences maybe we’ve all been tricked into believing 1:1 squished midface is ideal after all ?

Ian's jaw and eye area is so striking and appealing that you literally just don't care about his longer midface, similar thing with Chace's eye area. You can get away with a lot of things if you're other features are crazy, barrett's ESR is not ideal but it doesn't feel off when you look at him, good post.

There's no absolute hard and fast rule.
Generally, a long mid face is a suboptimal trait and the male actors who get famous are just outliers.
However, a good maxilla is much more important for a woman than a man.
A good jaw and eye area can more than compensate for it.
